Incredible Sound Q
Worth the stars just for that. (To be super picky there is some diginoise during LIG.)
They Love Each Other through Playing In The Band is very good GD.

First show ever
I just started to listen to the GD channel on XM and heard about this site... instantly, I wanted to hear the first show I ever went to... it was this 1/31/78 show at the uptown. great memories and a great show!

Philin it up!
This is a wonderful representation of the Greatful Dead. You can hear the patience that can only come from playing night after night to an auidience of one.

Better Than Expected
This show was surprisingly good (I don't particularly like 1978 as a whole), and a lot of the songs that sounded best to me are not songs that I'm terribly interested in hearing all of the time.
For instance, Minglewood really smoked, and Keith sounded interested in playing. Ditto for They Love Each Other. The Scarlet/Fire (which is a typical favorite), while not the best ever, was high-quality throughout. Even Good Lovin at the end was fun to listen to.
I'd recommend this show if you aren't looking for a way out-there vibe, but just some good songs well played.

In the shadow of the moon...
Another great show from early '78. The January shows are particularly good and they lead up to the great performances of 2/3 and 2/5 of that year. A bright and focused sound throughout, especially during Terrapin Station. I wouldn't go without any show from Jan. '78.
